As far as I am concerned, Rose Tyler the character, as a spunky and brave companion of the Doctor, was just fine. It’s only when (due to God only knows what influences cough RTD’s need to be the Best Fan Ever whose interpretation of Who is the definitive one For All Time cough) she became the Utmost Love of the Doctor’s Life (you know, except for whoever he was married to who had his kid who became the parent of his granddaughter Susan, Romana, Sarah Jane, Donna Noble who he actually called “my best friend,” the Master), that he would always regret losing 4evah!, that she became the obnoxious clingy jealous monster ROES. Her I can’t stand. I will always believe that the true interpretation of her and the Doctor’s relationship is that of grandpa/granddaughter substitute, and that Ten confided and depended upon Donna more than he ever had in Rose Tyler.
I may have to quit Tumblr. I just saw a gif in my Dashboard made of a mashup of a Sad!Eleven and a grinning Rose* with the words “last moments with your beloved” (from the Doctor Who Christmas Special that just aired last night) superimposed over both of them.
*In her fucking knit hat, from the excruciating Pathetic!Ten Says Good-bye To Everyone scene. KILL ME NOW.
Okay. So what the hell is a “nerdfighter”? This Charlieissocoolike person doesn’t look especially nerdlike to me. Or does he fight nerds? But why? I would think nerds and Doctor Who fans would get along just great, and in fact aren’t they one and the same?
I’m just an unfrozen cavewoman blogger. I was revived from a melted glacier where I’ve been since the Ice Age of 1977. Your world is strange and frightening to me.
